Hungarian Basic Development
A programme developed in Hungary by Dr Éva Marton to jump start the acquisition of language by using motor development pathways in the brain. The programme stimulates the formation of the dendrite system between the brain cells. This is called a synaptic network. The chance for new synaptic connections are made possible by the motor development. Irregularities noticed in the performance of motor tasks were linked to the incidence of speech delay and dyslexia. Onset of speech and improvement in language were noticed with improved motor coordination.
The basal ganglia in the brain are involved in motor coordination to make motor movements smooth and controlled but the basal ganglia also operate to formulate language structure into words and sentences.
The specialised Hungarian basic development motor programme may assist with language development.
